People simply never cease to amaze me. I mean, they really don’t. They are mind-blowingly…um…creative? Resourceful? And they sure do cover their bases!
So earlier this month apparently a couple woke up (a handsome, charming couple – please see endearing image below)

and rose early one Saturday to engage in the good ol’ American tradition of the Garage Sale. Yes, shopper’s bliss and seller’s contentment – and all the more so when you’re cashing in on someone else’s stuff! Like, the friend whose house you’re house sitting for??
You see? People are AMAZING! Why, I never even THOUGHT of that myself! I live here with my boyfriend and a roommate…think of all the profit I’ve missed out on by sitting on my duff all those days she was at work and I was here at home. I could have been selling off her stuff and making a killing! In fact while I’m at it, maybe I’ll just stick her in there and see what I can auction her off for too!
Good ideas beget good ideas, see?
Soooo, I guess that despite the fact that while their…friend…was away (sick, mind you, which is why she went away for the three months to begin with), Humpty and Dumpty over there sold off two full bedroom sets – wow! – a $1,000 brass tea set (now why someone has – er, had – a $1,000 brass tea set is another issue entirely), and a number of other belongings.
The kicker is though, that they weren’t mere law-unabiding citizens, no. They may have been engaging in grand theft and dealing in stolen property…but damned if they hadn’t been responsible enough to file for and obtain a permit from the city to hold said Garage Sale.

Those crazy kids. Who the hell would let them housesit? Imagine what they must have done to the plants and the goldfish!
