That’s right… the FRENCH.
Apparently a French scam artist told a Vietnamese guy that if he gave him piles of money ($35k in this case) that the French guy could soak the money in a vat of special liquid along with blank pieces of paper, and by morning the money will have doubled itself. The Vietnamese gentleman handed up $35k and went home, looking forward to the surprise the next morning when he was to be a seventy-thousand-aire.
Much to everyone’s surprise the French scam artist took the cash and split, leaving the Vietnamese guy bitter and a little suspicious of money-doubling liquids in the future.
