Since E3 everyone has been speculating what the Microsoft Kinect (originally called Natal… the video-motion-control stuff) with most pundits agreeing that anything over $99 was going to back Microsoft into a nasty corner of “new tech that no one wants”.
Well Gamasutra is reporting that Walmart has started accepting preorders for the Kinect at $199:
Is this insanity or [...]

Update #1: From the same development team that did the mobile.walmart.com site in Wicket also clarified that they finished (last year) the mobile.wellsfargo.com website using Wicket as well. That’s some serious props to Wicket!
I am on the Apache Wicket mailing list and one of the developers (Joachim) on the list wrote in this morning to say [...]

It is a well known fact that our country is currently in dire straights economically. There are many reasons for this from unchecked corporate spending to bad tax policies but I think one reason that is overlooked is the fact that shopping is a huge pain in the ass and stores never have what you [...]

So your nephew/daughter/significant other/best friend wants a Wii for Christmas, but every store is already sold out and probably will not have anymore in stock before you need it for that gift? You might try Walmart.com. Reuters is reporting that starting today Wamart.com will have thousands of Wiis in stock and available to be shipped [...]

We all know that people are insane. We also know that they are stupid. But this, this is just pathetic.
A Wal-Mart temporary employee was trampled – TRAMPLED, as in KILLED – by people who BROKE DOWN THE DOORS minutes before the 5am Black Friday opening. He was only 34.
From the International Herald Tribune:
At 4:55 a.m., [...]

It was bound to happen eventually. In fact, I have been predicting it for years. Someone got trampled to death in a Wal-mart on Black Friday. I hope Wal-mart is nailed to the fucking cross for this. Merry Christmas.
Of course, I must count myself as part of the problem since my crazy ass was in [...]

Jens Eckels sent in some badass news that for the week of June 8-14, Wal-Mart will be issuing $100 Gift Cards for anyone buying a Blu-ray Player. In addition to that announcement Wal-Mart is announcing super-low prices, some as low as $15, on Blu-ray titles to choose from if you decide to pickup some titles [...]

So I managed to break my office chair this weekend… most likely caused by my ripped abs and bathing suit models always calling me… and anyway, now I need a new one.
I bought this chair at Wal-Mart (or American-raping-Chinese-dream-company as it’s known around my desk) for $75.00 like 6 years ago… and I’m pretty sure [...]

Ted Regulski, AKA Ted “The Ted Man” Regulski, sent in news that Susan Chronister from Wal-Mart has confirmed that the employee-raping giant will go Blu-ray exclusive by June with no plans to continue stocking HD-DVD media or players.
So everyone that bought a $99 HD-DVD… yea… that freaking sucks

Laurence Hartje sends in a note that Boy Genius is reporting that starting November 24th, Wal-Mart will not be discounting the price of the 80GB PS3, but instead allowing you to pluck 10 Blu-ray movies off the shelve (under $30) to take with you when you buy one.
They also mention this is in addition to [...]

Laurence Hartje sends in the raid-worthy news that Walmart will be kicking off the holiday season with a $99 HD-DVD player, specifically the Toshiba HD-A2 (CNET Review, Amazon Reviews).
Just a quick reminder, this is not the super-high-end 1080p HD-DVD player, this is the mainstream 1080i HD-DVD player. So if you are not an AV-phile, go [...]
