Review of The World's Largest TVs

Have you ever wanted to destroy yourself financially because you were bored? Or walk into your bank and try and take out a mortgage for a television?

Yep, me too.

Well thanks to our friends over at Clearly-AV, you will know exactly which TV to purchase to most effectively sink you into a blackhole of debt until you die. They have reviewed the world’s largest televisions, and bring them all to us in their 100+ inch glory.

I’ve actually seen the previous world’s largest Plasma (the Panasonic 103″ from 2 CES’s ago), it lives inside the World Sport’s Bar & Grille here in Tucson by SEGA at the Foothills Mall. It’s a beautiful set, very bright colors and easy to watch.

Something that amazed me about these sets, for example the Luxio pictures above, is that they might be huge (the Luxio is 250″), but their actual pixel resolution is still normal HD, e.g. 1344 x 768, not even 1080p for the Luxio above.

How big are those pixels exactly?

Then again, a 250″ screen is never going to be watched from the same distance that a 60″ TV at home would be, so I guess in reality it’s a non-issue, but it’s still interesting.

You’d figure these things were like 2080p or something like that.

On a side note, in addition to the TVs reviewed in this article, for anyone living in Arizona and taking the I-10, have you seen those new high-resolution billboards up near Phoenix that replaced some of the old-fashion ones? They are really bright, colorful and easy to read… pretty badass.
