Justin Bieber Uses 3% of Twitter’s Infrastructure

I’m older than 13 and do not understand the geological phenomenon that is Justin Bieber. He is a nice enough looking young man, but from watching one of his videos to better understand the fad, all I can tell is that he is a manufactured property of Usher and Scooter Braun’s intended to sell subliminal sex to pre-teen girls under the guise of “music“, “hanging with my friends!” and “Just having fun!“.

As an older guy in technology with no kids, I don’t really care about that. I can’t think of a single corporation that isn’t trying to kill us or sell us sex, so “meh” on that one.

What does amaze me is that apparently Justin Bieber’s twitter account creates such a demand on Twitter’s servers, he has his own “racks of servers”; not 1 server, not 1 rack… multiple racks of multiple servers. The overall load on Twitter infrastructure is around 3% for what The Beebs generates. I don’t care who you are, you have to respect that… or want to move to another country.

Twitter did say it isn’t uncommon for more popular celebrities to have their own dedicated machines in their infrastructure to handle the load, but from the article I got the impression that Beebs’s was unique.

Thanks Giz!
