Slashdot reports that the BD+ copy protection scheme used in Blu-ray media has officially been cracked by the Doom9 community. Slysoft had previously cracked the BD+ copy protection scheme and ship functionality in their existing product line supporting Blu-ray disk operations (copy, burn, etc.)
Turns out one of the developers from the Slysoft group provided a tip in the beginning of the thread and then backed off for fear of Slysoft firing them.
In closing, would also like to point out that BD+ was suppose to last 10 years… so yea. Let’s get more intense DRM in software and media so we can barely use it, god knows that will work.
BD+ actually lasted longer than I though it would. They should be happy it even lasted this long.
