Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam Pure Gameplay Video

I’m not a Call of Duty junkie, but I do like shooters. I think Black Ops looks as interesting as the next guy. I finally played Modern Warfare (the 1st one) and have to play #2.

All that being said, one of the games we did get sent for review at launch was Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and I really enjoyed it.

I had played Bad Company 1 and thought it was decent, but nothing to remember. The amount of polish that has gone into Bad Company 2 really surprised me and made it feel like a top tier shooter almost immediately. The story wasn’t bad (I would have MUCH preferred an alien/artifact angle, but I’m a Sci-fi dork) but the environments, weapons and sounds were absolutely wonderful.

I am not normally interested in DLC, but when I saw some of the content for the Vietnam DLC for Bad Company 2, I got very interested in that title again. It looks like the folks over EA/Dice have decided to put together a “pure gameplay” trailer for the Vietnam content and frankly, it looks fan-goddamn-tastic so I wanted to share it with the folks that would care here:

I think you meant angle, not angel – and yeah, I was hoping it was a sci-fi thing when I played the prologue – it instantly reminded me of Lost in that level (to not be too specific with spoilers).

      Hey RJ!

I swear I need a spellcheck that has a checkbox to turn on a “I Spell Like I have Brain Damage” mode… I would just leave that on.

As far as Bad Company 2 — YES, exactly Lost is what popped into my head and I got all excited that they would dare take such a mainstream game down the avenue of one-off/sci-fi business (trying to avoid spoilers)… alas they did not and it was pretty straight forward “Stop the terrorists from the terrorism that is terrorizing us”.

If you dig stories that are ambitious as hell and up the sci-fi ally, you need to play the Assassin’s Creed series. If you have played it and played Brotherhood… how is it? I avoided it because I thought it was just Multiplayer tripe and they lost the main creator over differences… but now I’m hearing there is a ton of story content in it and I can’t quite make up my mind.

I haven’t played Brotherhood, but I’ve also heard good things. They did a great job “evolving” into Assassin’s Creed 2, however, lots of open world activities in that game.

Hopefully we’ll have a review of Brotherhood up soon (Patrick is on it, I just haven’t pulled his ear much about it yet) but yea Ass Creed 2 had a LOT to do… watched a view gameplay video clips from Brotherhood and the number of events in a single area of Rome was off the charts… I think if I play Brotherhood there are going to be a LOT of Rome citizens that go un-helped by me :)

I love this game. The Breach loading grenade launcher is hot. Plus I really dig the vehicles.
